Operating or 30 years they are highly respected for their quality of workmanship and service delivery and have received numerous construction and building awards over the years, They have also gained a reputation for staff retention and have many senior staff with 20 years of service. This business completes a range of projects from $5M-$50M in the educational, industrial, institutional and health sectors. A majority of their work in D&C and as a result they have a well-established design team with professionals at various levels including technicians, coordinators and senior design managers. This is an opportunity for a Design Manager to manage projects from early conception through to construction practical completion. The Design Manager will be an integral part in driving project throughout the process taking it from the tendering team through detail design, tender, then in delivery working closely with the construction team. Key Accountabilities :- Lead the design team from design development through to construction Review drawings and specifications to ensure the required level of detail is being met Proactively drive the design , cost and scope to optimize development budget Bring together and lead the consultant team ensuring adherence to the design program Evaluate any technical-based variations proposed from the construction team and provide recommendation to development team Lead shop-drawing review and sign off after input from the construction team The role offers the successful design manager the ability to have real input and drive project deliverables which will be seen in tangible project outcomes across both design and budget. There is a solid pipeline of work including some prestige private school projects and various government work coming through in 2025/26. Ideally you will have an Architect or Project Management background on either client or contractor side with minimum 3-5 years-experience or more in the commercial construction industry.
