As a Senior Motor Fleet Underwriter, you will help shape the future of our motor fleet business. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-value fleet underwriting cases across Australia. Your new role: A day in the role may look a bit like this: Contribute to underwriting strategy and planning by participating in team and national discussions, making informed decisions, and sharing best practices to support operational goals. Underwrite complex motor fleet risks within delegated authority, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, while continuously improving underwriting processes. Manage key portfolios and accounts, deliver timely decisions, and build strong relationships with intermediaries, customers, and internal stakeholders to enhance satisfaction and collaboration. Drive technical performance by achieving underwriting targets, identifying new business opportunities, and maintaining deep knowledge of market trends, legislation, and underwriting systems. Provide coaching and technical support to team members, helping develop their expertise and ensuring consistent, high-quality service and profitable portfolio outcomes. Monitor portfolio performance, identify adverse trends, and collaborate with specialist underwriters and managers to implement corrective actions and maintain strong loss ratios. About you You will be a seasoned insurance professional with proven experience in fleet underwriting, capable of handling complex and high-value quotes and renewals. This is a technical, senior level role that demands deep expertise in commercial motor insurance. To be successful in this role you will have: Confidence in assessing and underwriting large, complex motor fleet risks within delegated authority, applying sound judgment and technical expertise. Skilled in navigating intricate policy structures and making informed decisions that balance risk and profitability. Experienced in managing renewals and portfolio performance, with a strong focus on achieving underwriting targets and maintaining healthy loss ratios. Effective in collaborating with internal underwriters and brokers, offering strategic input and technical support to drive business outcomes. Solid insurance background with proven experience in motor fleet underwriting and demonstrate deep knowledge of commercial motor products and market dynamics. Possess excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a high-performing team.
