Purpose of the Role BGIS is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead day-to-day operations across a brand-new, landmark waterfront facility . A truly one-of-a-kind environment! Reporting to the Senior Facilities Manager, you'll oversee planned and reactive maintenance, manage subcontractors and budgets, and ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved. You'll also play a vital role in fostering a positive, safe, and culturally inclusive workplace - one that values collaboration and community. This role suits someone with a trade background and strong experience in facilities or maintenance management - whether you're already a Facilities Manager or ready to take that next step from a coordinator or supervisory position. Key Responsibilities - Lead and deliver all maintenance and facilities operations, ensuring planned and reactive tasks are completed safely and efficiently - Oversee contract delivery, subcontractor performance, and KPI compliance - Manage budgets, invoices, and reporting, ensuring financial accuracy and transparency - Drive safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement across all site activities - Foster a supportive, inclusive team culture - leading by example and encouraging collaboration - Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and community partners Education, Experience & Skills Essential: - Trade qualification (Mechanical/Electrical) with post-trade qualification (Engineering Certificate/Associate Diploma) - Experience in property or facilities management, ideally within complex or community environments - Strong understanding of planned/reactive maintenance programs, OHS&E systems, and compliance requirements - Financial acumen, with ability to manage budgets, invoicing, and reporting - Proficient in CMMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite - Team-oriented, hands-on leadership approach, with strong communication skills Desirable: - Experience with PPP (Public-Private Partnership) or large-scale public precincts - Environmental, ESD, or energy management experience - Flexibility, adaptability, and an inclusive approach to problem solving Workplace Flexibility This is an on-site, full-time permanent role based at the Djilang (Geelong) Waterfront .
