We, at our Paramatta branch are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team. You'll be responsible for preparing and cooking dishes to our standards, ensuring quality and consistency. Position Responsibilities and Tasks: Plan and design menus that highlight Volcanos' signature dishes, including premium dry-aged steaks, ribs, and gourmet burgers. Estimate food and labour costs to support efficient kitchen operations and maintain profitability across high-volume service periods. Order and manage high-quality halal ingredients and supplies, ensuring consistency with Volcanos' sourcing and food preparation standards. Monitor the preparation, cooking, and final presentation of dishes to uphold the restaurant's commitment to flavour, portion size, and visual appeal. Collaborate with restaurant managers, kitchen staff, and front-of-house team to ensure smooth coordination during busy dining hours. Demonstrate proper cooking techniques for steak, ribs, and other menu items, while mentoring team members on Volcanos' kitchen procedures. Prepare and cook meals to order, maintaining consistency with Volcanos' recipes, halal practices, and customer expectations. Enforce strict hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards in line with local regulations and the brand's reputation. Train and supervise junior kitchen staff to ensure high performance, skill development, and adherence to Volcanos' food quality standards. Properly store, portion, and freeze food items as needed to maintain freshness, minimise waste, and support kitchen efficiency. Qualifications and Skills: Relevant qualifications. A minimum of one years' experience in a similar role. High attention to detail in presentation and consistency. Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations. Good communication and coordination with kitchen and front-of-house staff. Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between: $75,000 - $90,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
