About the Opportunity ICON has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a keen interest in managing the design, development, build and operations of unique and customised equipment for offshore projects for Major Oil & Gas Operators. Your focus will include: Concept development, through to the detailed design, assembly, testing and operations associated with bespoke equipment and tooling. Creating detailed technical specifications for equipment, materials and installation procedures. Managing discrete packages of work including planning, budgeting, and vendor contract management. About You Essential: Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or Mechatronics Engineering with demonstrable mechanical engineering experience). 10 years relevant post graduate mechanical engineering experience, including at least 4 years in oil and gas, and track record in the following: Concept development/detailed design of mechanical engineering systems. Subsea mechanical components design and specification. Testing, commissioning, operation, ongoing servicing and troubleshooting of mechanical systems/ equipment. Offshore operation experience desirable Building and assembly of hydraulic and/ or pneumatic mechanical systems is desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a multi-discipline team environment. Proven ability to manage small to medium projects circa $3m. Proven ability or willingness to step up to manage a small team of engineers and technicians while executing projects. Application of analytical thinking and proactive engagement of internal and external Subject Matter Experts if and as required. Desirable: Customer relationship management skills. Experience with control system design. Experience in lifting systems. Experience in handling technical and commercial BD enquiries. Familiarity with Australian and International Codes and Standards that commonly apply to offshore, subsea and drilling equipment and systems. Exciting Benefits!
