About Us Established in 1901, Bendigo Golf Club is a premier 18-hole championship course located just 10 minutes north of Bendigo’s CBD. The Club is currently experiencing an exciting period of growth and renewal, marked by the recent completion of a 15-bay Driving Range and a 72-bay Cart Shed. Future developments include upgrades to our practice facilities and the Clubhouse. We are seeking a skilled and motivated General Manager to oversee operations and contribute to the continued success and strategic development of our historic Club. The Role Reporting directly to the Board, the General Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of all day-to-day operations, ensuring the delivery of excellent service to members and guests while supporting the Club’s long-term strategic goals. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all aspects of Club operations, staff, and events. Provide strategic advice and support to the Board. Ensure compliance with financial, legal, safety, and governance standards. Manage budgeting and financial reporting, ensuring transparency and accountability. Engage proactively with members, guests, stakeholders, and partners. Build and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal government bodies. Drive continual improvement across Club facilities, services, and member experiences. About You We are looking for a hands-on, values-driven leader with strong business acumen and a passion for golf and community sport. You will ideally have: Experience in managing a golf club or similar community or sporting organisation. Proven leadership, staff management, and interpersonal skills. Strong financial literacy and operational planning capability. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a willingness to contribute beyond a traditional office-based role. Qualifications & Requirements (or willingness to obtain) Tertiary qualification in Sports Management or PGA of Australia Club Management (desirable but not essential).
