As an Image Processing Engineer, you will work at the intersection of image processing, computer vision, and sensor fusion designing algorithms that enable automatic target recognition (ATR), including detection, classification, and tracking. This role will interface with internal R&D, systems engineering, and external partners. In this role, you will be responsible for: Design, develop, and validate high-level image processing algorithms for Electro Optical systems. Implement capabilities such as: Object detection and classification Single and multi-object tracking Model, simulate, and test algorithms using MATLAB and Python. Optimise low-level image enhancement techniques, including: Histogram equalisation, deconvolution, denoising Contrast enhancement, sharpening, spatial filtering Collaborate with systems engineers and optronics experts to integrate solutions. Candidate skills & requirements To be successful in this role you must have: Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Vision, Signal Processing, Physics, or related field. 5 years' experience in image/signal processing, ideally in defence, aerospace, or research. Strong foundation in signal and image processing. Proficient in MATLAB and Python. Experience with: EO/IR image detection and classification Object tracking and motion prediction Image registration, filtering, and enhancement Familiarity with EO/IR sensors, gimbals, or UAV payloads. Experience deploying algorithms on embedded or GPU platforms. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Desirable: Experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). Understanding of embedded or real-time implementation constraints. Experience managing R&D collaborations with academic or industrial partners.
