Position Overview We are seeking a qualified and motivated Accountant to join our very experienced and professional public practice team. The successful candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, proficiency in leading accounting software such as Xero and MYOB, advanced Excel skills, and fluency in English. This role involves managing accounting systems and compliance requirements for a portfolio of clients, preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns, and providing timely business advisory support. Duties for the Position Deliver end-to-end bookkeeping services, including payroll processing, superannuation, long service leave (LSL), workers’ compensation across all states, and TPAR compliance. Perform accurate bank reconciliations and transaction coding to maintain integrity of financial records. Manage accounts payable and receivable reconciliations, and prepare and lodge BAS in accordance with statutory requirements. Maintain accounting records, ensure accurate data entry, and prepare financial reports and statements in line with compliance standards. Prepare income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies, and SMSFs in accordance with Australian taxation laws. Liaise with external and internal auditors, conveyancers, and bankers on financial and accounting matters, including finance and operational leases. Draft directors’ minutes, share transfer forms, and other corporate documents in compliance with company constitutions, the Corporations Act, and state legislation. Proficient in accounting and practice management software, including MYOB, Xero, AO, WorkflowMax, Reckon, QuickBooks, Dext, Tax Agent Portal, and SSCH. Salary Range: negotiable base on experience.
