Job Description As a Subject Matter Expert and a functional consulting leader with more than 15 years of relevant experience, you will lead a team of domain consultants and business analysts specializing in the Mining domain contributing to client engagements, sales pursuits, solution building, thought leadership and other org initiatives. You will also play a consulting-lead role in client engagements. A typical client engagement will call for recognizing key trends impacting the client org, identifying industry transformation levers, contributing to the next generation Digital solutions, and facilitating solution blueprint and deployment. You may leverage your expertise in mining industry applications and COTS products along with your hands-on experience in implementing modules in automation and process control, planning and scheduling, logistics, EHS etc. You may play an individual domain anchor role or lead a team of consultants/ BAs given the context of a client program. Role and Key Responsibilities Market Maker & Executive Engagement This role requires strong business acumen for C-suite interactions, understanding client contexts to deliver technology-led solutions. Responsibilities include conducting client workshops and envisioning sessions, co-selling with sales teams, and collaborating across internal units to deliver cohesive solutions. Key skills include executive presence, presentation abilities, storytelling, collaboration, and continuous learnability. Business/ Functional Expertise Work on client assignments, typically large digital transformation programs, as an SME (subject matter expert) or domain leader. Engage with client business and IT, and Infosys teams throughout the phases of an IT program from planning through solutioning and implementing. Be the bridge between the business and technology stakeholders. Deep knowledge and understanding of mining value chain, mine production systems, EHS, mining COTS applications, automation and associated operational technologies. Define business/process models considering Industry best practices, drive business workshops to define requirements and elaborate functional specifications of an IT solution. Design Use cases, lead Functional Architecture, re-engineer process models and integrate disparate services for end-to-end solution delivery. Review and verification of deliverables with the project team (internal acceptance) and client (external acceptance) and assuring timely completion of projects. Maintain and create project documentation (user manual, functional specification, project plan, flowchart etc.) Sales Pursuits, Thought Leadership and Unit Initiatives Contribute to sales pursuits and market development initiatives, working with the sales and account teams. Build comprehensive proposals from inception to submission, owning up the domain/functional contents. Drive thought leadership and innovation tracks – industry solution, partnership, publication and speaker events. This includes building Go-To-Market offerings and authoring white papers Required Skills & Experience (Mandatory) 15 years of relevant experience as a domain /functional consultant or an industry practitioner in mining & metals industry with sufficient technology skills. Extensive experience in at least few of the industry functions and underlying software technologies Exploration and surveying, Mine planning and development Mine production and ore transportation, Mineral processing Mine Safety – Underground and open cast Logistics/ Fleet Management Automation & Process Control Experience related to IoT/Industry 4.0/ AI/GenAI/ ESG in Mining & Metals. Ability to work in field-based environments and travel to remote mining sites as needed. Analytical thinking and problem-solving expertise Exceptional communication and presentation skills Preferred Skills (Good to Have) Conversant with design-thinking based, agile lightweight approaches such as customer personas, customer journeys, story maps etc. Global exposure and experience in a multi-cultural environment Experience in Software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies Educational Qualifications Graduation/Post-Graduation/MBA/MS/MTech/Mining/Geoscience/Processing/Metallurgy or related area from reputed institutes Any relevant certification/trainings will be an added advantage.
