About the role The Enterprise Technology & Software Engineering team connects and builds the technology tools that help our group work smarter, faster, and more efficiently. We focus on the configuration, development and continuous improvement of our Enterprise Technology platforms, prioritising agility and adaptability. We integrate modern engineering approaches and foster a culture of innovation to scale for future growth. Role focus As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll build, develop, enhance, maintain and support solutions that underpin Ampol’s digital assets and customer-facing technology. You’ll work with business users and other team members to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and available when needed. As a senior member, you will provide thought leadership through coaching and mentoring to the wider team. You’ll take us further by: Own the creation of component design for larger solutions Own the delivery of the technical components of the solution, through to production Provide technical expertise within the Software Engineering team Contribute to development of standards and best practices Keep current with technology and industry changes and contribute to discussions to improve existing solutions Mentor and coach peers and juniors in the wider team Contribute to the Software Engineering Community of Practice as well as DevSecOps, to ensure a broad organizational perspective and practice Qualifications We’d love it if you have: Extensive software development experience with a focus on backend integration work within enterprise 5 years of .NET experience, including mentoring other engineers and establishing best practices Experience in integration architecture, including best practices, trade-offs, resiliency and reliability concerns Experience with Azure Cloud Services Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including debugging, performance optimisation, and root cause analysis Ability to explain complexity and influence technical and non-technical teams towards simplicity Agile software development – SCRUM/Sprint based Secure coding practices (DevSecOps), participation in code reviews, source code management (GitHub), infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform) Additional Information Total remuneration is competitive, including base salary, performance incentive, employee share offers and a 25% discount on Fuel for two privately used cars Hybrid work options and flexibility to balance remote work with office collaboration Internal recognition platform to celebrate achievements Career development and learning opportunities (e.g., LinkedIn Learning) BabyCare Package – financial and flexible support for parents returning to work Novated Lease options available Employee Share Scheme to invest in your future Ampol Benefits & Recognition platform with retail discounts and cashbacks One paid day per year volunteering with Ampol Foundation partners Equal Opportunity We’re an equal opportunity workplace.
