Job Description Initial 15 month contract with extensions ACT, QLD, VIC, WA locations Must hold active NV1 or higher clearance Our high profile Federal Government client is seeking multiple Associate Software Developers for an initial 15 month contract. Applicants must hold an active NV1 or higher security clearance prior to applying. Most roles are based in Canberra; however, the Agency may accommodate candidates in Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth. The Agency requires Software Developers who can create innovative solutions by developing and integrating software, documenting technical processes, and supporting testing and deployment. To be successful, you must demonstrate the ability to lead and manage system administrative support activities within a key capability domain. Additionally, candidates should be able to contribute effectively in a complex and rapidly evolving business environment. Key duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: Design, build, integrate, deliver and document software capability that meets business requirements. Escalate issues and seek advice from Team Leader or Project Manager in a timely manner. Document technical processes in accordance with organisational policies and procedures and promote bi-directional knowledge transfer within a team environment. Assist with automation capability for existing systems and integrate Commercial Off-The-Shelf and Government Off-The-Shelf software. Monitor systems and infrastructure; provide assistance with support requests to fix and troubleshoot issues. Implement and maintain automated testing. Provide feedback on implementation and design aspects as required from other areas. Assist in the continuous improvement process by developing and enhancing procedures and produce documentation, including detailed design documentation, in accordance with Agency policies and procedures. Technologies skills required: Experience in development languages/frameworks such as Python, Java, Java Messaging Service, Javascript/Typescript, J2EE, RESTful web services, Django and Ruby, Kubernetes, OpenShift. Experience in or knowledge of Puppet, Ansible and Docker automation tools.
