About your role: Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds. Maintain a high standard of customer service by responding to general reception enquiries for the department by answering all incoming telephone calls and ensuring accurate transfer of messages and information to support patients and staff. Attend to presenting patients, family members, general public, police and ambulance by providing information and direction to relevant areas. Verify and update all compensable data on the current patient information systems ensuring the capture of quality data and accurate recording of all patient details including demographic information, Medicare, Private Health Insurance, Department of Defence and Department of Veterans Affairs information.
