The Role We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Regulatory Analyst to join our team. This role is crucial to supporting the business planning and regulatory functions at Yarra Valley Water. The successful candidate will play a key part in the development of our corporate reports, including the Corporate Plan and Annual Report, and will assist in managing our relationships with key government and regulatory stakeholders. A core focus of this position is to move beyond simple data manipulation and into the deeper understanding of complex data sets. You will apply a strong grounding in economic concepts and an analytical mindset to interpret data and contribute to strategic business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a background in accounting or economics to develop their skills in a dynamic, regulated environment. Your key responsibilities Assist in the management of key regulatory projects and business initiatives, working on behalf of the business to ensure alignment with government and DEECA stakeholders. Conduct comprehensive data analysis, applying economic concepts and principles to interpret numerical information and inform regulatory submissions and business planning. Support the production and drafting of significant corporate documents, including the Corporate Plan and Annual Report, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. Prepare clear, concise, and well-structured written reports and submissions for internal and external audiences. Support stakeholder engagement activities, helping to build and maintain effective relationships with government bodies and other key stakeholders. Utilise analytical skills to solve complex problems related to regulatory and financial data. What we’re looking for 2-5 years of demonstrated professional experience in a related field. A degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. Strong capability in data analytics with the ability to understand and interpret data sets rather than just manipulate them. Excellent written communication skills with experience in drafting professional reports and correspondence. Experience in supporting or managing projects from initiation to completion.
