Global Process SME plays a pivotal role in supporting Global Process Owners ( GPOs ) across key business functions—Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Maintenance & Calibration—during Cochlear’s SAP S/4HANA implementation. This role ensures that business processes are accurately represented, validated, and tested throughout the project lifecycle. The SME collaborates with P2I GPOs, Deloitte Functional Consultants ( DFC ), program Amplify stakeholders, and technical teams to support solution design, global process standardisation, testing, and data validation. Key Accountabilities Support P2I GPOs in representing functional requirements and business processes across five key P2I domains. Validate functional specifications (FS) and ensure alignment with operational needs and global standards. Contribute to the development and execution of end-to-end test scenarios and test scripts for integrated systems. Participate in solution walkthroughs led by DFC and execute test cases accordingly. Participate in and support testing activities across FUT, Trial Data Conversion, SIT and UAT phases, note these SMEs will not be doing all the UAT, however, they will be a key resource in training, up-skilling and supporting the team performing the test activities. Collaborate with DFCs to review WRICEF objects and test scenarios. Validate WRICEF objects through isolated Functional Unit Testing (FUT), ensuring they meet business requirements Raise defects for any issues identified and collaborate on resolution. Participate in the retest of corrected solutions to confirm successful implementation Key Accountabilities - Global Process Improvement & Standardisation Support P2I Global Process Owners (GPOs) in driving global process harmonisation and continuous improvement across manufacturing sites. When providing input into configuration objects, the SME is expected to: Identify opportunities for process standardisation across regions and sites, ensuring consistency in how core business functions—Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Maintenance & Calibration—are executed within SAP S/4HANA. Evaluate existing local practices and assess their alignment with global process design principles, recommending adjustments that enhance scalability, compliance, and operational efficiency. Collaborate with P2I GPOs to define future-state processes that reflect best practices and support enterprise-wide objectives. Provide configuration input that not only meets functional requirements but also enables long-term process optimisation and simplification. Challenge legacy practices where appropriate, advocating for streamlined workflows and data structures that reduce complexity and improve system performance. Act as key contributors to decision-making processes, with a clear mandate for what they can drive and decide, supported by timely input from other decision-makers. Ensure that configuration decisions support integrated, end-to-end process flows across SAP modules and external systems (e.g., MES). Document process improvements and their rationale to support change management, training, and governance efforts. Provide input to technical writers for updates to ERP documentation and QMS procedures. Experience and Skillset Required: Deep functional and process expertise in one or more P2I business functions (Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, and M&C). 7 years of experience in ERP systems or GSC operations, ideally with experience in ERP implementation projects focused on global process harmonisation. Proven ability to translate business requirements into ERP configurations and validate WRICEF objects. Expertise in designing and executing end-to-end test scenarios (FUT, SIT, UAT) and managing defect resolution. Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and decision-making skills in cross-functional, global environments. Track record of identifying process standardisation opportunities and optimising end-to-end process flows.
