As the Leading Hand – QA, you will play a dual role in contributing to quality assurance processes, ensuring day-to-day electrical activities are completed safely, accurately, and to the highest standards. You’ll work closely with production, lead a small team and inspection tasks to support manufactured products for our customers. Key Responsibilities Lead by example to ensure all electrical jobs are completed safely, on time, on budget, and to Ampcontrol’s quality standards. Perform product quality activities, including: Electrical test and inspection processes Reporting and managing non-conformance reports (NCRs) Ensure all manufactured and installed equipment is: Correctly tested, functional, and safe to operate Built to spec, compliant with relevant standards, and fit for purpose Lead and contribute to the installation and fit-out of electrical hardware and components in switchboards/enclosures: Including duct work, cable tray, switchgear, etc. Interpret and work from schematics and scopes of work Maintain a strong understanding of switchgear and industrial electrical systems Take responsibility for the training and development of assistant testing personnel within the electrical department Actively participate in the development, implementation, and review of QA/QC processes and procedures Collaborate with Production Supervisor, Leading-Hands and Test Officers to drive a culture of continuous improvement ABOUT YOU? Your sound electrical skills and ability to seek ways of adding value to our services will be complemented with the following: Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent. Current WA Electrical Licence. Previous Electrical experience in a similar role. Working knowledge of the application and the use of electrical equipment. Understanding of electrical schematic and wiring diagrams. Demonstrated experience in technical problem solving. Stand-alone power system experience (Advantageous). Experience in diagnostic testing of electrical equipment utilised in utilities and mining and power transmission (Advantageous). QA experience Think you know Ampcontrol? You may be surprised.
