What you'll do: Due to the continuous growth at Perth Airport, we are seeking a passionate Heritage Advisor that possesses a blend of technical knowledge, interpersonal skills and a deep respect for cultural and historical values to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Perth’s New Runway on a unique 2-year fixed term contract. As Heritage Advisor, you’ll be the driving force behind ensuring cultural heritage commitments are upheld to the highest standard. Coordinate engagement with Traditional Owners and assist with securing the delivery and implementation of approvals and compliance activities to enable development of the Perth Airport estate. You will also support and advise Perth Airport with Aboriginal engagement and embedding Aboriginal cultural heritage management considerations within organisational processes and policies along with the following: Assist with compliance requirements of the Airport Act 1996, Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 to fulfil obligations and strategic development goals of the Perth Airport Master Plan Monitor all construction approval conditions; MDP, Section 18, CEMP and PNR Cultural Heritage Management Plan (CHMP) commitments Liaise with internal stakeholders and contractors to ensure compliance and alignment with organisational policies, frameworks and processes Support input into design and tender documents and review of tender submissions, management plans and other submissions Conduct inspections and audits to ensure PAPL compliance with regulatory heritage requirements, PAPL EMS and Perth Airport Environment Strategy Participate and undertake heritage risk assessments, inspections, audits, monitoring, and compliance tasks to report on and enhance heritage performance About you: You’re a heritage professional with a passion for protecting cultural values in complex infrastructure environments. To thrive in this role, you’ll bring: A degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related discipline. Over five years’ experience managing heritage compliance on major construction projects. Strong working knowledge of WA and Commonwealth heritage legislation and its practical application. Proven ability to develop and implement Cultural Heritage Management Plans across project lifecycles. Completion of construction induction training (White Card). A current Australian driver’s licence. A knack for problem-solving and considering diverse viewpoints. A collaborative nature and the ability to build trust with stakeholders at all levels. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
