Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner, Practice Quality, the Director, Person Centred Safeguards is responsible for leading and overseeing all safeguarding and monitoring work undertaken by the PQ Division. Regulating practice quality safeguards is essential for maintaining the safety and protection of vulnerable participants and this role plays a critical role in achieving that goal. The main role of the Director is to lead and manage the Person Centred Safeguards Team, including the day to day operations of the team's oversighting operational safeguarding, complex case management and write ups of case studies and compliance associated with safeguarding. The Director will provide effective management and oversight of performance improvement strategies and strong leadership in championing, monitoring and advancing performance improvement initiatives that uphold the dignity, well-being and safety of NDIS participants. The Director, Person Centred Safeguards works closely and collaboratively with the Commission's Enterprise Prioritisation Management function and relevant areas within the Commission to ensure appropriate safeguarding actions are taken as required. The key duties of the position include Key Duties of the role: Coordinate the efforts of the Person Centred Safeguards function to ensure a comprehensive approach to safeguarding participants' health, safety and wellbeing. Establish mechanisms for ongoing quality assurances and improvement of safeguarding policies and procedures. Maintain accurate records and data relating to safeguarding cases, interventions and outcomes. Utilise data driven approaches to manage resources effectively to achieve systems level impacts. Work with the sector NDIS providers and other professional to enhance their practice and promote a culture of continuous quality improvement Prepare high quality reports, briefing papers and Ministerial correspondence for presentation to the Senior Executive.
