GMS has been established to provide in-house open pit and underground mining services in the Goldfields region of Western Australia. This role is offered on 8 days on, 6 days off Fly in Fly Out roster from Perth to Leonora . Town based established accommodation camp in Leonora with great camp facilities including, gym and pool as well as town facilities. About the role The Dewatering Technician will support the safe operation of surface dewatering systems, poly welding and pump maintenance. Main responsibilities Safe operation of process plant equipment and mobile plant, tails disposal & storage, water systems, reagents & services Manage, maintain, and operate pumping systems, including dewatering of open pits Install and maintain dewatering installations, including poly pipe welding Shutdown & prepare equipment to ensure weekly maintenance schedules are completed Ensure isolation procedures are applied where people or the environment may be exposed to hazardous energy sources &/or substances Record all shift report data correctly and on time (i.e. delays, locations, directions) Take appropriate action in the case of an emergency Undertake other duties, within your capabilities as and when required About you Previous dewatering or pump fitting experience (surface mining) Poly welding ticket Mechanical aptitude and problem solving knack Current Manual Driver’s Licence (C Class) A Mechanical/Plumbing Trades Assistant (highly regarded) Understanding and practical application of HSE standards, rules and procedures The Company Genesis Mining Services (GMS) is a division of Genesis Minerals Limited (ASX: GMD), who is a central player in the tier-one gold mining district of Leonora, Western Australia.
