Your role at St John of God Mount Lawley H ospital We are seeking applications from Speech Pathologists (Grade 1) to join our Allied Health team. Our Allied Health care team provide a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, working with patients to help them return to health and independence as soon as possible after injury, illness or surgery. As Speech Pathologist (Grade 1), you will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical speech pathology services to clients/patients using evidence based clinical practice skills. Various casual positions are available. One 12-month fixed-term, part-time position offering 60.8 hours per fortnight is also on offer. The Position: Assessment of patients with communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders Development of individual treatment and therapy programs (with long- and short-term goals) Completes clinical documentation and undertakes administrative tasks as required. This may include communication of assessment results and therapy outcomes to the referring party and other parties involved in the patient’s management. Actively prioritises own caseload including participating in relevant clinical review meetings and case conferences as appropriate. Supports and liaises with patients, carers, colleagues, medical, nursing, allied health, support staff, external agencies and the private sector to provide coordinated multidisciplinary care Educate patients/carers in assessment, treatment and post discharge management and organise discharge summaries/referrals to other services, as appropriate The ideal candidate will have completed a tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and hold full membership with Speech Pathology Australia. You will possess demonstrated knowledge and skills in assessment, treatment, and evaluation within Speech Pathology practice, along with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential, as well as proven time management and organisational abilities to efficiently coordinate an assigned caseload.
