About the team The Utilities Network Maintenance is responsible for the operation, maintenance (planned and unplanned) and assessment of the passive assets associated with drinking water, non-drinking water and sewerage networks, pumping stations, tanks, reservoirs and associated civil and structural facilities. The branch is responsible for the delivery, under normal conditions, of a continuous supply of safe and reliable drinking water. During emergency situations, Asset Reliability will coordinate the provision of drinking water to critical customers and service areas and will restore services as quickly as possible, when interruptions have occurred. About your new role Under the direction of the Supervisor Civil Maintenance and Construction, and the Technical Works Officer, you will be responsible for: Repair & maintenance of Water and Sewer infrastructure including water mains, sewer mains, valves, hydrants, water meters, manholes etc. Ensure a high level of quality communication is provided to all customers Promote and facilitate a positive working relationship with our service delivery partners. Oversee and ensure that Workplace Health and Safety, Environment and other legislative requirements are complied with at all times Ensure efficient utilisation of plant & contract services Promote and contribute to a positive & healthy workplace We're looking for people who have: Certificate II in Water Industry Operations or equivalent knowledge and experience C Class Drivers Licence or higher (Mandatory) General Construction Induction Card (White) (Mandatory) A detailed approach to their work, ensuring all tasks are performed to meet quality, safety, environmental and legislative requirements Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to liaise with a range of external stakeholders and internal staff across the City A positive outlook and can self-motivate themselves to work with minimal supervision A proven capacity to apply initiative, judgement, and resources effectively to achieve organisational goals within required timeframes A natural affinity for teamwork Be part of shaping the Gold Coast's future The Gold Coast is inspired by lifestyle and driven by opportunity.
