ABOUT THE BRANCH The Parliamentary, Governance and Strategy Branch provides advice and support to our ministers, the department and portfolio entities to fulfil their responsibilities to the Parliament. The Branch manages parliamentary processes, delivers Cabinet support and is a point of contact for the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS). The Branch delivers secretariat support to Finance's governance committees and coordinates implementation of the enterprise performance framework which includes preparation of Finance's corporate plan, annual report and performance reporting. The Branch has responsibility for implementation of a broad range of capacity building projects under DFAT funded Official Development Assistance (ODA) programs in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific and can provide advice and support to areas of the Department hosting visiting foreign delegations. As a senior member of the Planning and Performance team, you will support a small team in the effective delivery of Finance's primary planning and reporting products under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act (2013) (PGPA Act) and associated Rule. The key duties of the position include ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY The Parliamentary, Governance and Strategy Branch is looking for a high performing, dedicated Senior Officer to support the planning and performance functions at the Department of Finance. The nature of the work requires liaising across all areas of the department and undertaking coordination activities. This opportunity would suit individuals who have strong administration and collaborative skills. Ideally, you will be organised, flexible, have excellent attention to detail, and an ability to work across the section and broader branch, if required. Working in a team environment the position may encompass some or all of the following: Assist with the preparation of the corporate plan, annual report and quarterly performance reporting, including coordination across the department. Ensure accountability requirements are met, including the preparation and approval of performance measure records, quarterly performance reports and corporate publications. Contribute to papers and reports that provide oversight of performance in the department against their key performance indicators. Manage, monitor and prioritise incoming and outgoing correspondence from group mailboxes to ensure matters are managed appropriately and deadlines are met, including referring or escalating matters as appropriate. Coordination of ad hoc briefing and requests for information. Contributing to the provision of complex information and strategic advice to stakeholders. Assisting with other teams within the branch, if required.
