Occupational Therapist – Inpatient Rehabilitation Location: Porirua Contract: Permanent, Full Time A Role with Purpose Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist passionate about helping people live well after illness or injury? This is your chance to join a dynamic inpatient rehabilitation service with a strong focus on person-centred care and multidisciplinary teamwork. About the Role This position centres on timely, high-quality Occupational Therapy input within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) across three key areas: Neuro-Rehabilitation (primary focus) Health of Older Persons Orthopaedics (including amputee rehabilitation) The role involves functional assessment, intervention planning, and complex discharge decision-making as part of a collaborative MDT. You’ll also contribute to ongoing service projects, including: Reviewing models of care Patient-centred goal setting Whakawhanaungatanga approaches to patient and whānau hui Inter-Professional Practice models About the Team The inpatient rehabilitation MDT includes over 40 allied health professionals from six disciplines, working closely alongside nursing and medical colleagues. The team provides: Regular supervision and mentorship Training and professional development opportunities A collaborative environment that values equity and cultural responsiveness A commitment to improving health outcomes for Māori and Pacific peoples About You The ideal candidate will have: Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand and current APC Strong experience in rehabilitation, ideally in neuro, orthopaedics, or older adults Excellent communication and collaborative skills Ability to work confidently within an inter-professional practice model High levels of motivation, initiative, and adaptability Understanding of Māori and Pacific health needs, and commitment to reducing inequities Current full driver’s licence Why Apply?
