There are two temporary vacancies at SOG A level available in Legislation, Policy and Programs. An opportunity exists to join the Civil and Regulatory Law Branch as a Senior Director (SOG A) in the Housing and Consumer Protection Team. Leading the Housing and Consumer Protection team, you will be responsible for a team developing property legislation, including residential tenancies, unit titles, retirement villages and sale or property legislation, occupational regulation for certain industries and consumer protection related legislation. This vacancy is available now until 12 December, with the possibility of extension to six months. There is also a temporary SOG A vacancy in the Criminal Law Branch . As Senior Director of the Criminal Courts team, you will lead policy and legislative reform related to the criminal and coronial courts, including the drug and alcohol court, as well as options for legislative reform to bail and sentencing laws. The Team also works on mental health issues that intersect with the criminal justice system, such as fitness to plead. The Team works closely with other parts of the Branch and Division on a range of other government priorities related to the ACT’s justice and law systems and processes. This vacancy is available from late October 2025 to late January 2026, with the possibility of extension to six months.
