Key responsibilities: The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to: Manage media enquiries by drafting timely, high-quality responses and liaising with journalists about the third runway (including some out-of-hours work) Develop content including speeches and briefing notes for senior leaders and internal communications Create content to inform communities about project milestones or consultation opportunities Support the community engagement team with the delivery of public events Draft media releases for key project milestones Provide support to the business in crisis management situations Work with the digital team to draft and create engaging social media posts, manage social media interactions, and maintain website content The successful candidate will have: Tertiary qualification in Communications or Journalism Demonstrated experience writing clear, concise copy for media or customer-facing organisations Proven ability to work well under pressure as part of a team and with a range of internal and external stakeholders Ability to work proactively and reactively, making recommendations to ensure timely and appropriate outcomes Thorough understanding of the evolving digital landscape and opportunities this presents for Melbourne Airport Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities Solid understanding of media and digital channels, including social media and emerging opportunities Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Exposure to issues-rich environments Experience developing communications to reach broad and diverse audiences We understand that not everyone will feel they meet all of these 100%.
