As our Head of Compositing, you will develop and support consistent workflows in your department, ensuring the right tools and technology are being used to deliver a variety of work to the highest standard efficiently. You will be accountable for helping define these workflows and approaches to maximise the efficiency of the show teams. You will help design and set standards for the Compositing Pipeline so your team can create the highest standard of work in the most optimised manner. You will engage in the creative process with a positive and supportive attitude, demonstrating an excellent aesthetic eye and the ability to anticipate potential problems. Working with the other Head of Departments at DNEG, you will communicate on behalf of the Compositing team, act as the point of contact for collaboration for all shows, and implement strategies to improve operation efficiency on an ongoing basis. This includes creating workflows for handling 2D renders and 3D assets from all departments and developing automated compositing methodologies used by other departments to present their work for review. DNEG is an international company with one pipeline and one vision to provide the very best visual effects. You will work with Head of Compositing counterparts in other studios to plan the division of work between locations to maximise resources and productivity. You will line-manage your Compositing team, including Supervisors, and be accountable for probationary reviews, annual appraisals including salary discussions, performance management and succession planning, and hiring when required. You will mentor and develop your team to fulfil their potential. Must Have Deep understanding of Compositing within visual effects for high-end film and television.
