The Lead Technician will work with a team of professionals to maintain facilities surrounding wind turbines, maintain the turbines themselves and substation facilities, and ensure the implementation of the operational excellence program. Job Description This position assists the Site Leader with overseeing all technical matters on site including leadership and training of Technician crew. The role further includes various activities including administrative tasks, planning and continues improvement activities. Safety leadership is central to this role and is a key measure of success. Monthly, weekly, and daily planning through the Operational Excellence Program, in coordination with the site manager, to ensure high efficiency of labour and turbines/substations. Ensure the execution of all daily scheduled works through the operational excellence program identifying and reporting justifications when something is not matching the plan. Review Work Orders and Pending works to reflect the correct information in reporting systems and schedule the execution of priority works. Assist and/or provide training and support to the technicians for their day-to-day jobs in relation to generation equipment and company systems as required to operate facility safely and efficiently. Perform WTG and Substation maintenance and repairs together with the Technician team. This should constitute a material portion of daily work time. Form part of the site oncall/after hours support roster Lead and support the technicians in troubleshooting, calibration, repair, and retrofitting of low to medium voltage electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components that are a part of the wind turbine and substation Conduct and review safety analyses of potential electrical and mechanical hazards in the wind turbines, substations, and the O&M buildings. Train personnel in the proper use of safety gear, protective equipment, and control of energy sources to ensure work is performed safely. Monitor the tool inventory at the wind farm and maintain consumables and spare parts inventory. Provide support to site leader for contractors management. Complete and maintain required and accurate documentation and records associated with all maintenance activities on site Ensure that safety, health requirements and cleanliness of facility and equipment are met. Schedule and track the progress of wind turbine maintenance and substations to meet established guidelines. Promote and support continuous improvement plans and activities Required Skills and Competencies Appropriate Trade Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Disciplines. Electrical trade must or be able to hold a valid Electrical License Minimum 3 to 5 years post trade qualifications. Basic computer skills and familiar with the Microsoft Office suite Current driver license Capacity to undertake responsibilities in accordance with the ACCIONA Energía Safety Management System. Capacity to travel to various Wind Farms across Australia. Ability to maintain qualifications relevant to the industry, including: HV Operator under ACCIONA Energía Work Permitting system. Privileged Access Workers (PAW's) are required to obtain satisfactory results from Acciona's Suitability Assessment prior to commencement, this forms part of our standard pre-employment checks.
