What's the role? • Lead the GP team in providing medical services to at the Galiwin’ku Health Service. • Provide and assist with planning services incorporating multidisciplinary team based primary care, urgent care and emergency care in a very remote setting. • Timely intervention in acute medical problems. • Identification and management of chronic conditions with a multidisciplinary approach. • Provide health education to Aboriginal Health Practitioners and other members of the clinic and community. • Participation in health promotion activities, health research and development. • Improve the standard of primary health care in East Arnhem. • Advocacy on Public Health issues. • Promotion of a Quality Improvement approach to health systems issues and problem solving What’s in it for you? • Competitive salary package. • Comprehensive Leave: Receive annual leave with additional leave loading, Miwatj Annual Leave Travel Assistance, Fares Out Leave, and Compassionate Leave. • Professional Development: Access opportunities for growth with professional and study leave. • Supportive Packages: Benefit from mobile phone and car allowances, housing and utility packages, and relocation and repatriation assistance. • Retention Bonus: Full-time employees may be eligible for a retention bonus, starting at $10,000 (subject to eligibility criteria). • Access NT PHN/RWA NT relocation and educational grant funding. • Benefit from the Workforce Incentive Program Doctor Stream (WIP) , with payments ranging up to $65K in MM7 locations. What do you need to apply? • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, values and beliefs. • Demonstrated skills and ability to communicate sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from different cultural backgrounds. • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues effecting the health and well being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in contemporary society. • Proven leadership and communication skills relevant to GP and multidisciplinary teams • Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) and Fellow of the RACGP, ACRRM or equivalent. • Extensive experience in General Practice, Rural Generalism, Emergency Medicine. • A commitment to improving Aboriginal health through primary health care. • Demonstrated previous experience in a community or Clinical and Primary Health Care Service. • Demonstrated experience or understanding of Aboriginal Community Control Primary Health Care Service. • Excellent planning and organisational skills. • Confident in dealing with the application of information technology.
