Yard Person / Workshop Trade Assistant – South-Eastern Suburbs. Our client is a leading Australian manufacturer specialising in the construction and repair of truck tipper trailers. They seek a versatile Yard Person / Trade Assistant to join their dynamic workshop team in Melbourne's South-Eastern Suburbs. Key Responsibilities: General Yard and Workshop Duties : Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the yard and workshop areas. Loading and Unloading : Safely load and unload trucks and use a 12-tonne forklift to move trailers around the yard. Material Preparation : Cut, punch, and prepare steel components as required. Trade Assistance : Support tradespeople with various tasks within the workshop. Safety Compliance : Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Requirements: Valid LF Forklift License : Essential for operating a 12-tonne forklift. Mechanical Aptitude : Ability to understand and assist with mechanical tasks. Work Ethic : Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and take initiative. Safety Awareness : Strong understanding of workplace safety practices. Residency : Must be based in Melbourne, Victoria, with the right to work in Australia. References : Ability to provide contact details for two past employers.
