Because of this, we are on the lookout for an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join our busy operations team. This position is dedicated to supporting our diverse industry clients. As one of Mipac’s Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineers, your responsibilities will be diverse and your day-to-day tasks varied. From mentoring junior engineers to developing technical solutions and collaborating onsite with our global clients, this is a role with plenty of opportunities to grow your skillset while being supported by approachable management and an inclusive, diverse team. On any given day in this role, you may: Maintain a strong focus on workplace health and safety standards, ensuring adherence to all relevant Acts, Regulations, and company policies. Develop and implement electrical and control systems engineering standards, specifications, procedures, and practices, and audit compliance with these standards and regulations. Lead innovation in electrical and control systems design, providing clear technical direction to enhance project efficiency and profitability. Undertake electrical and control systems investigations, designs, and calculations, and prepare and maintain engineering documentation to ensure quality, schedule adherence, and budget compliance. Oversee and mentor engineers, designers, and drafting personnel, ensuring compliance with technical and quality assurance standards. Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to resolve workflow issues and ensure high-quality project deliverables are completed on time and within budget. Participate in engineering peer reviews, client meetings, and technology evaluations, contributing to continuous improvement and mentoring junior engineers. Support business development activities as required, helping to grow the company’s client base through technical excellence and project success. About you Ideally, you will have: A degree in Electrical Engineering, recognised by Engineers Australia and RPEQ. Demonstrated experience in electrical and control systems engineering within the mining and minerals processing industry. Proven ability to work independently under pressure and manage competing priorities. Experience mentoring and leading other engineers in a technical capacity. Strong background in brownfield projects, including change management and integration of new systems into existing infrastructure. Demonstrated ability to understand client and operational requirements and translate them into effective electrical and control systems designs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. A track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. Proficiency in various aspects of low voltage electrical systems, including: Design of motor control centres (MCCs), distribution boards, and power distribution systems. Field cabling and termination design. Earthing and bonding design. Arc flash analysis and safety system design. As-building and documentation of existing installations. Strong ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, control system architecture, and other engineering documentation. Capability to produce high-quality engineering deliverables such as technical reports, procurement specifications, data sheets, commissioning plans, and inspection test plans. Hands-on onsite commissioning experience, particularly with control systems and electrical installations.
