Our client is an international engineering company specializing in the design and build of bulk materials handling solutions and packaging machinery. The position on offer will commence with a strong focus on the initial specification and design of the electrical layout, but will also spill into supporting the controls and build teams and commissioning of the project. This is a fantastic career opportunity for a qualified or recently graduated Electrical Engineer with 3-5 years practical experience. Your duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Taking the mechanical design and liaising with the Mechanical and Controls team to specify and design the electrical layout for a new machine build. Assisting in the development of the controls systems in conjunction with the Controls Engineer. NB some writing of code for the PLC and HMI may be required from time to time. Preparation for Functional Descriptions for the proposed operation of the PLC and HMI components Assisting with the commissioning and ongoing troubleshooting of installations. Liaison with suppliers to source and evaluate tender bids. Participation in weekly project meetings It is envisaged that the successful candidate will display a strong desire to progress in the industrial automation industry. However it will be your ability to evidence most of all of the following skills and attributes, that will make you successful in this role: You are tertiary or trade qualified in an appropriate electrical engineering discipline. AutoCad Electrical experience is essential. You are computer literate and familiar with PLC coding and troubleshooting. (typically Alen Bradley and Siemens) Min 2 years experience in a similar role. You display the “right attitude” and a willingness for continual learning. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. You are results oriented while maintaining high accuracy and good attention to detail. Previous relative industry experience would be highly regarded but not essential, as full industry training will be provided.
