We’re seeking an Associate Director, People Systems & Capability to drive the effective management and continuous improvement of people systems, vendor relationships, and workforce reporting capabilities. This integral role provides subject matter expertise, leads day-to-day management of key external providers (including payroll and HCM), and oversees data analytics and insights that support optimal decision-making across the department. Main responsibilities include: Lead operational oversight of key external vendors – payroll, HCM, contractor management to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery Manage and enhance the department's payroll shared service provider, workforce reporting, dashboards, statutory reporting and insights to inform strategic decisions Oversee people systems, identifying and implementing initiatives that improve systems and processes Provide expert support to stakeholders on systems, reporting tools, and data quality improvement Deliver projects that transform and increase capability across the people and capability department Lead a team of 3 staff Requirements Proven experience managing and improving workforce systems, payroll operations and data reporting functions ideally in the government sector High-level stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to navigate government processes, build effective relationships and manage vendor or shared service provider performance Strong leadership capability to effectively manage a team of 3 direct reports and enable optimal performance Experience delivering data and reporting solutions, including dashboards and analytics (e.g. Power BI), and using workforce data to inform decision-making A strong working knowledge of public sector policies, procedures and governance frameworks, and the ability to operate effectively within them Experience working with payroll and workforce management systems such as SAP, Cornerstone or similar platforms If this sounds like you and the role you have been waiting for, please contact Kerri on 02 8366 0944 or apply below ASAP, as we're moving quickly on this business critical role.
