WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING As the Finance Business Partner, you will collaborate with senior leaders across the organisation to ensure high quality financial decisions are made to help drive business performance. You will: Provide objective financial advice that positively impact the future choices of a business unit Identify and drive financial efficiency, ensuring that the business unit allocates resources effectively with rigorous pressure on costs and a commitment to a value-for-money approach Promote good financial discipline, and risk management processes to ensure effective cost control and cost management behaviour in the business Monitor monthly expenditure against budgets, perform variance analysis and prepare and distribute monthly financial reports Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts Act as a key contributor to the development, implementation and continual improvement of strategies, processes, and tools Coach team members in aspects of management accounting, cost management, financial analysis and general best-practice principles Promote the development of financial and commercial acumen across Coal LSL through effective business partnering and mentorship. Understand the wider business strategic plan and direction and can articulate how finance contributes to the delivery of strategic initiatives Understand the interdependencies between the different business functions, collaborating across all functions for the improvement of processes, achievement of activities and development of the team Build and maintain relationships with the wider business, ensuring alignment of processes and procedures where possible and sharing best practice Translate the vision and values into day-to-day activities and behaviours, including guiding and motivating others Seek opportunities for new, different, and innovative approaches to address problems, opportunities and improve the customer experience Facilitate the implementation and acceptance of change within the team Promote a culture that values and incorporates risk management, compliance and WHS activities. You will be a natural at building trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation and will be highly regarded for your financial acumen. Your background will demonstrate your: Expertise in financial analysis, presentation, process streamlining and customer service Capacity for analytical reasoning, innovative problem-solving, and attention to detail Knowledge and practical use of accounting systems and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau) Strong inter-personal and communication skills Data literacy with the ability to perform descriptive and diagnostic analysis Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently or within a team and skilled at navigating tasks under broad guidelines Capacity to work within tight timeframes, adapt to change in a dynamic evolving environment and maintain high-level personal motivation You are a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) or have a relevant post-graduate qualification.
