Senior Tax Accountant – Compliance We are partnering with a leading financial services firm that is seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join their compliance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong tax professional to work across a diverse client base, providing high-quality compliance and advisory support in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely tax compliance services, including preparation and review of tax returns, BAS, and tax effect accounting. You will also play a key part in supporting advisory engagements, assisting with audits, and liaising with regulators to ensure best practice standards are met. Working closely with senior stakeholders and clients, you will be expected to apply your technical expertise while also providing clear, practical advice that supports commercial outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Manage and review tax compliance obligations for a portfolio of financial services clients, including income tax, GST, FBT, and payroll tax. Prepare and review income tax returns, BAS, and tax effect accounting calculations. Assist in managing tax audits, liaising with the ATO and external stakeholders. Provide tax technical advice and support to internal teams and clients. Ensure compliance with relevant tax legislation and regulatory changes, keeping abreast of industry developments. Mentor and support junior team members in tax compliance processes and technical knowledge. About You: CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent). 4–7 years’ experience in tax compliance, ideally gained within financial services, Big 4, or mid-tier accounting firms. Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax legislation and compliance requirements. Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and client portfolios. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax matters into practical solutions. Experience working with financial services clients (funds, superannuation, insurance, or banking) highly regarded.
