About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join our consulting team, supporting a key client project in the data transformation space. This role is ideal for a testing professional with strong hands-on skills in ETL testing and Azure DevOps (ADO) test management , combined with solid experience in functional, integration, and end-to-end testing. As part of our consultancy, you’ll be delivering high-quality testing services across complex, multi-stream programs involving infrastructure, applications, and reporting layers. You’ll play a pivotal role in validating data accuracy, transformation workflows, and ensuring traceability and quality outcomes within Azure DevOps. NOTE: Due to the nature of the role, candidates MUST have Australian Citizenship Responsibilities: Plan, design, and execute test cases for data transformation and ETL processes. Validate completeness and accuracy of datasets, including source-to-target mappings and transformation logic. Perform SQL queries for backend verification, ensuring data integrity and consistency. Configure and manage Azure DevOps projects, boards, and test plans for centralised execution and reporting. Ensure traceability between user stories, test cases, and defects in Azure DevOps. Collaborate with developers, data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues. Provide detailed reporting on test outcomes, defects, and risks to project leadership. Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and assist in defect triage. Essential Skills and Experience: Proven experience as a Senior Quality Engineer on large-scale enterprise projects. Strong hands-on experience with ETL testing , including data extraction, transformation, and loading. Proficiency in Azure DevOps for managing test plans, boards, and integration workflows. Solid SQL skills , including writing complex queries for data validation. End-to-end testing experience across functional, integration, and UAT phases. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery models. Desirable: Experience with dashboard validation and data visualisation testing. Exposure to automation tools or frameworks. Familiarity with performance and security testing strategies. ISTQB Foundation/Advanced certification.
