About the role Join our team in an exciting role as an Allied Health Professional - Physiotherapist, where you will make a difference to older people in our care. Our physiotherapists utilise their clinical assessment and treatment skills to help them achieve their potential and optimise quality of life through person-centred model of care. As part of our dynamic Allied Health team, you will help shape the direction of Allied Health services within our organisation. Collaborate closely with our supportive team, including the Allied Health Team Leader, other allied health professionals, medical officers and Clinical team members. Professionally you will be supported by Allied Health Team Leader and Allied Health Manager, ongoing professional growth will be supported via bimonthly meeting for opportunities to explore new programs and implement new practices. You will work alongside other health team members to understand resident’s care needs, plan interventions, and review outcomes, supporting residents to achieve their goals. What You’ll Do: Assessing, implementing and reviewing evidence-based physiotherapy intervention to optimise resident’s function Liaising with GPs and other stakeholders Ensuring that electronic records are compliant with professional and Aged Care Quality Standards Support clinical and care team in safe manual handling practices Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive resident care and improved outcomes Delegate appropriate tasks to therapy or lifestyle assistants and monitor that these are performed safely and effectively Provide equipment prescription process to ensure appropriate, safe, and effective solutions for residents Contribute and deliver Falls Prevention and relevant Health Promotional Activities to promote Healthy and Positive Aging What You’ll Bring: Bachelor of Physiotherapy and current AHPRA registration with demonstrated experience in area of expertise Ability to provide education, support and coaching to direct care employees, residents and their families Well-developed communication (written and face-to-face) and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, carers families and direct care employees Knowledge of the aged care quality standards (desirable) Special Requirements Recommended to have current vaccinations in line with government health directives (e.g. COVID-19, influenza) Australian Drivers Licence Why Join LHG?
