What’s The Role All About We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic leader to oversee and transform Council’s asset management function. Reporting to the Manager Property and Assets, you will lead a multidisciplinary team to manage the lifecycle of Council’s $3.6 billion asset portfolio — from planning and renewal to data management and compliance. This role requires both technical excellence and collaborative leadership. You will bring expertise in enterprise asset management, capital program delivery, and lifecycle planning, alongside the ability to lead organisational change and embed best practice frameworks. 1 x full-time permanent What You Might Do Lead Council’s asset management function in line with ISO55000 standards, legislation, and Council priorities. Drive continuous improvement of asset management frameworks, policies, and systems to achieve advanced practice. Oversee total lifecycle asset management activities including asset condition assessments, register management, renewal planning, and financial reporting. Lead the development and implementation of the annual infrastructure renewal program. Provide expert advice to Executive, Council, and community stakeholders on asset management strategies and priorities. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including Road Management Act obligations and reviews. Act as data owner for infrastructure assets, maintaining integrity of Council’s Asset Register and systems. Manage contracts, budgets, suppliers, and audits related to asset and infrastructure projects. Lead, coach, and empower a team of senior specialists across asset planning, data, and capital delivery integration. Who We Are Looking For Extensive experience in strategic asset management and lifecycle planning, ideally in a complex or public sector environment. Strong knowledge of enterprise Asset Management Information Systems, frameworks, and legislative compliance. Demonstrated ability to deliver organisational change programs that advance asset management maturity. Proven success in leading multidisciplinary teams and influencing outcomes across technical and community contexts. Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide high quality advice to Executive and Council. Relevant tertiary qualification in Management, Engineering (Civil), Asset Management, or a related field, with significant professional experience.
