Description We are seeking a dynamic Wastewater Operations Integration Specialist to join Coliban Water on a full-time, 3-year fixed-term contract. This is a rare opportunity to act as a subject matter operational expert and play a pivotal role in a transformational project. Overview of role: As our Wastewater Operations Integration Specialist, you will be the vital link between capital project delivery and daily operations during the Big Water Build - Coliban Water’s once-in-a-generation capital works program. Reporting to the Lead Process Engineer, you'll represent operations through the design, construction, commissioning, and proving phases of major wastewater upgrades, including the Bendigo Solids Handling Project. You'll ensure new treatment assets are safe, efficient, and fully integrated into live operations Key Responsibilities: As our Wastewater Operations Integration Specialist, you’ll be accountable for: Be the on-the-ground operational subject matter expert for major upgrades at Bendigo and Castlemaine WRPs. Lead the interface between operations and project teams, ensuring safe, compliant commissioning of new treatment systems. Provide critical operational input during design, installation and start-up phases. Coordinate between contractors, consultants, and Coliban Water teams to ensure smooth project integration. Build in-depth process knowledge, develop operating procedures, and mentor the wastewater operations team. Champion a strong safety culture and ensure new infrastructure is safe and practical to operate. About you: 10 years of hands-on operational experience in the water sector (wastewater focus preferred). Expertise in biological nutrient removal, sludge handling, chemical dosing, and process optimisation. Proven ability to manage wastewater treatment infrastructure within regulations.
