Overview Join to apply for the Executive Director - SPHERE role at UNSW Location: Sydney NSW or other sites as deemed necessary (Hybrid work arrangement available) Employment Type: Part time, fixed term Remuneration: Level E About SPHERE Maridulu Budyari Gumal – the Sydney Partnership for Health, Education, Research and Enterprise (SPHERE) is an NHMRC accredited Advanced Health Research Translation Centre (AHRTC). Hosted by UNSW in partnership with 4 health partners (SWSLHD, SESLHD, St Vincents Health Network, and SCHN) and 10 other organisations (Universities and MRIs). SPHERE is dedicated to advancing health outcomes and healthcare through research translation and capacity building. Why your role matters This position is an exceptional opportunity to lead SPHERE at a critical stage in its evolution. The new Executive Director will be central in driving the future success of SPHERE to ensure that SPHERE meets the requirements outlined by the NHMRC as well as the priorities set by its partners. The Executive Director will provide strong strategic and operational leadership, work with Council to implement our strategy, revitalise our partnerships and position SPHERE for successful reaccreditation by 2027. Who You Are This role is suitable for an outstanding clinician researcher, translational scientist or health administrator and first-class advocate. You will be an exceptional leader who can drive organisational management and champion health research translation to elevate SPHERE. You will have a demonstrated track record of working closely with the health system, including NSW Health entities, and a proven ability to engage with key stakeholders including government, funding bodies and community organisations. You will also: Possess a relevant degree and ideally post-graduate qualifications. Qualifications and academic experience in the clinical or other relevant health sector are essential Possess a strong track record of building partnerships across sectors and credibility with academics, clinicians, the local health community, industry and national policy makers Possess a strong track record in health research translation in complex environments Evidence of strategic and operational leadership including setting and executing a strategy, people management, and budget management Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships and influence others at all levels within SPHERE and external stakeholders Strong interpersonal skills with experience working with diverse groups and complex issues involving multiple stakeholders For further information on the role & responsibilities, please refer to the position description.
