Responsibilities Represent Australian surfing on the National and International stage Leadership of both commercial People and Athlete performance Lead Australia's peak surfing body, overseeing competitive pathways from grassroots to elite level performance systems Drive Olympic and World Championship medal success through strategic athlete development and performance programs Maximise revenue streams through sponsorships, broadcasting rights, event management, and strategic partnerships with tourism and lifestyle brands Unite state surfing bodies, clubs, coaches, and athletes under a cohesive national strategy while maintaining strong industry relationships Location Northern NSW location (Casuarina) Essential Requirements Sports Administration Excellence Proved track record in national sporting organization leadership or equivalent large-scale operational management. Commercial Leadership Demonstrated success in business development, sponsorship management, media rights negotiation, and revenue diversification. Government & Regulatory Relations Expertise in securing funding and managing complex relationships with Australian Sports Commission and state government organisations. Global Industry Networks Deep understanding of World Surf League operations, International Surfing Association protocols, and global competitive surfing organisation. Authentic Industry Credibility Genuine connection to surfing culture and community with established credibility among athletes, coaches, and industry stakeholders. Strategic Vision & Execution Demonstrated capability to balance sport's cultural heritage with commercial imperatives while expanding participation and maintaining competitive excellence.
