Key Responsibilities As a Senior Grid Connection Engineer, you'll take charge of key technical and collaborative responsibilities central to our client's renewable energy projects. These include: Grid Connection Analysis: Conduct advanced power system studies and simulations such as load flow, fault level, and dynamic stability analysis using industry-leading software (e.g., PSSE, PSCAD, PowerFactory). Generator Performance Standards (GPS): Prepare, review, and validate GPS packages to ensure regulatory compliance and smooth approval processes. Stakeholder Management: Act as a liaison between utilities, developers, and network operators to negotiate and secure effective grid connection agreements. Design Validation & Compliance: Oversee and validate grid connection designs to meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards for renewable projects. Technical Advisory: Provide expertise on grid codes, connection standards, and evolving technical frameworks relevant to renewable energy networks. Team Leadership: Guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering team growth and promoting industry best practices. Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with advancements in renewable energy technologies, grid connection policies, and market trends to ensure forward-thinking solutions. What You Need to Succeed We are looking for individuals with a proven track record in power system analysis and grid connection within the renewable energy space. Essential Qualifications & Skills: Proficiency in power system modelling software such as PSSE, PSCAD, PowerFactory. Demonstrated ability to conduct grid compliance studies and prepare Generator Compliance Packages (GPS). Solid understanding of grid codes and regulatory frameworks related to power systems and renewable energy integration. Strong analytical capability with a focus on solving complex technical grid challenges. Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems , or a related discipline. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in power systems, grid connections, or a relevant role within the renewable energy sector. Preferred Expertise: Experience working on renewable energy systems including solar, wind, and battery storage. Familiarity with emerging grid technologies like Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and microgrids.
