Our Why? Humanforce’s vision is to make work easier and life better for frontline and flexible workforces. Humanforce provides the market-leading, all-in-one human capital management (HCM) suite for frontline and flexible workforces, without compromise. Our employee-centered, intelligent, and compliant HCM suite is highly integrated and composable, consisting of Workforce Management (WFM), HR, Talent, Payroll, and Wellbeing. Humanforce has grown rapidly through four strategic acquisitions, bringing together world-class products and teams. With this growth, we’re strengthening our engineering leadership by investing in domain-specific expertise. We’re excited to introduce three specialised Head of Engineering roles, each dedicated to a core product domain. This structure enables deep technical leadership, champions modernisation, and drives innovation, while empowering teams to deliver exceptional outcomes at scale. For HR and Talent, this means leading the engineering strategy for the suite that underpins performance, engagement, and HR workflows. It is about ensuring scalability, driving innovation, and shaping the tools that help organisations attract, retain, and grow their people. Who you are You are a seasoned engineering leader who thrives on setting technical direction and driving excellence at scale. You’ll lead the engineering strategy for our HR and Talent product tribe, building high-quality, scalable solutions that underpin performance, engagement, and core HR workflows. As the technical leader, you’ll guide architecture, best practices, and delivery across squads. You’ll also play a hands-on role, partnering with Product, Platform, and CX teams, while mentoring engineering managers and fostering high-performing, inclusive teams. What you’ll do Define and own the technical direction for the HR & Talent suite. Shape architecture for scalability, flexibility, and data integrity. Embedded in squads to align engineering execution with product vision. Drive performance, feature innovation, and measurable outcomes. Proactively unblock teams and resolve cross-functional friction. Lead and mentor engineering managers, setting high technical standards. Collaborate cross-functionally to align priorities and manage trade-offs. Ensure customer issues and performance concerns are addressed proactively. Contribute to roadmap delivery with hands-on technical leadership. We believe AI will play an increasingly central role across our product domains, and we’re seeking engineering leaders who share that vision. In this role, you will be expected to be AI-curious and to incorporate intelligent tools to accelerate and improve development, whether for prototyping, automating routine tasks, analysing data, or enhancing decision-making. You will help shape our AI adoption strategy, defining best practices, ensuring ethical and secure usage, and fostering AI literacy across your team. We’ll provide support, tooling, and space to experiment so that using AI becomes a competitive advantage, not a risk. What you’ll need Strong experience with PHP, Laravel, PostgreSQL, JavaScript frameworks (or similar backend platforms). Experience delivering secure, compliant, and data-sensitive SaaS software. Ability to make architectural decisions and implement modernisation strategies. Track record of shipping complex, high-impact software using CI/CD practices. Skilled at unblocking teams, resolving friction, and course-correcting delivery. Ability to translate business goals into technical strategy and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong leadership presence with experience building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing engineering teams. Awareness of how AI and machine learning can be applied in HR and Talent platforms, such as predictive analytics, intelligent matching, and employee engagement. Some ‘nice to haves’ Experience with .Net and SQL Server. Familiarity with observability tooling (logging, tracing, metrics). Experience designing migration strategies in mission-critical SaaS environments. Advocacy for test automation, secure-by-design, and sustainable delivery practices. Experience integrating AI-powered solutions into HR or Talent workflows to enhance recruitment, performance management, or employee experience.
