Senior Financial Controller – Fashion Retail Full-time | 5 days in office Up to $220k - $250k super An exciting opportunity exists for a commercially astute Senior Financial Controller to join a high-growth, market-leading womenswear fashion retailer. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the CFO, this is a pivotal role within the senior leadership team. The Opportunity: As the Senior Financial Controller, you will lead and oversee the financial operations of the Australian business. You’ll manage a team covering accounting, accounts payable, and payroll, and be instrumental in providing clear financial insight to senior leaders, many of whom are strong retailers who will value your support in interpreting numbers and driving commercial decisions. This role requires someone who is not only technically strong but also hands-on, adaptable, and an excellent communicator. You’ll be trusted to make important decisions independently while also contributing to the broader growth strategy of the business. Key Responsibilities Oversee all financial operations in Australia, ensuring robust controls, compliance, and reporting. Partner with the CEO, CFO, and senior leadership team to drive financial performance and strategic decision-making. Lead and mentor a team including accountant, assistant accountant, accounts payable, and payroll. Deliver clear financial insights and simplify complex data for non-finance stakeholders. Support integration of climate-related financial reporting standards and sustainability compliance into the finance function. Take a hands-on approach to resolving challenges and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. About You Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role , ideally in retail, fashion, or a fast-paced consumer business. A qualified accountant (CA/CPA or equivalent) with strong technical expertise. Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change and growth . Commercially minded, with the ability to translate financials into actionable insights. Hands-on and adaptable, comfortable rolling up your sleeves when needed. Strong communication skills, able to partner with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
