As the PSL5 Assistant Systems Administrator, you will have knowledge of and understanding of a range of HR legislation, internal guidelines and policies as they relate to public sector employment and conditions of service. As the PSL6 Assistant System Administrator, you will have experience in administration and management of Aurion or similar Human Resources Management Information System including conducting configuration changes and enhancements in a similar sized commercial or government environment. A strong understanding of HR regulations and best practices, hands-on experience in HRMIS systems (e.g. Aurion) and a strong knowledgeable of HR processes such as establishments, payroll, recruitment and their interconnections. About the section The People Strategies Office is responsible for providing efficient and effective human resources advice and services to support the Department of the House of Representatives. The People Strategies Office provides advice and support to management and staff on policies and procedures. It also provides payroll services (for both departmental staff and Members of Parliament); administration of training and development; health, safety, and rehabilitation case management; performance and conduct advice; employment relations and broad human resource initiatives and projects. The key duties of the position include Duties of the Assistant Aurion Systems Administrator (PSL5) are: Undertake research and analysis to identify complex issues and make recommendations for resolution. Supporting the testing and implementation of changes including upgrades, system enhancements and new modules. Assist with the management of the end-to-end configuration, enhancement and administration of Aurion and other HR systems. Analyse and interpret complex legislation relating to system configuration and enhancements. Deliver high-quality customer service to support internal and external users and stakeholders. Contribute to delivering Aurion and other HR systems project activities including process improvements and the delivery of the HR Systems workplan. Ensure full documentation and standard operating procedures exist to support HR systems and all enhancements. This includes the preparation and review of system administration manuals, user guides, procedures and documentation sufficient for audit purposes. Assist with other People Strategies activities, including projects as required. Duties of the Assistant Systems Administrator (PSL6) are: Conduct research and analysis to resolve complex issues and problems independently. Conduct testing of upgrades and system enhancements. Maintain a high standard of system access controls, system codes, structures, and general system maintenance. Assist with the management of the end-to-end configuration, enhancement and administration of Aurion and other HR systems. Analyse, interpret and apply complex legislation to support system configuration in a proactive manner. Deliver high-quality customer service to support internal and external users and stakeholders. Actively participate in delivering Aurion and other HR systems project activities including process improvements and the delivery of the HR Systems workplan. Provide training, mentoring and support to team members Ensuring full documentation and standard operating procedures exist to support HR systems and all enhancements. This includes the preparation and review of system administration manuals, user guides, procedures and documentation sufficient for audit purposes.
