About the Role Our client's Real Estate team in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Real Estate Lawyer to join their market-leading practice. As Melbourne's property market continues to evolve with major infrastructure projects and urban development initiatives, this role offers exposure to significant commercial property transactions and development projects. This position represents an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer with strong technical skills and a genuine interest in property law. The Real Estate team is well established with a collaborative culture and strong client relationships across the property industry. Key Responsibilities Advise clients on commercial property acquisitions, disposals, and development projects Draft and negotiate sale and purchase agreements, development agreements, and joint venture structures Handle complex leasing matters including retail leases, office leases, and industrial property arrangements Manage due diligence on major property transactions and development sites Provide advice on planning and development approvals, body corporate matters, and property compliance Work with property developers on large-scale residential and commercial developments Coordinate with specialists including town planners, engineers, and property valuers Handle settlement processes and post-completion matters Assist with property fund establishments and managed investment schemes Client relationship management and business development activities Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to team knowledge sharing Role Expectations The successful candidate will be expected to: Provide practical and commercial advice on complex property matters Take responsibility for transactions with appropriate supervision and support Manage multiple property deals and development projects simultaneously Demonstrate strong attention to detail in reviewing property documentation Build effective relationships with clients across the property industry Work collaboratively with colleagues across different practice areas Contribute to business development and client relationship activities Stay current with property law developments and market trends About the Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have: 3-6 years experience in commercial property law preferably gained within a top-tier or mid-tier firm Strong experience in property transactions including acquisitions, disposals, and leasing Knowledge of property development processes and planning law desirable Experience with retail leasing and commercial leasing arrangements Understanding of property finance and security documentation Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with commercial approach Strong analytical skills and ability to manage complex property transactions Client relationship skills and business development acumen Proactive approach with genuine interest in property law and market developments Team player with collaborative working style Why Apply?
