The Role As the EL1 Financial Accountant, your key responsibilities will include: Prepare monthly financial reports, annual financial statements and Portfolio Budget Statements, including interpreting accounting standards Oversee the financial operations function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end processes and credit card management, while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures Liaise with external auditors, supporting internal audits and manage insurance, risk functions Support the audit committee by preparing quarterly paperwork and providing secretariat support The Ideal Person You are likely to come from one of the following backgrounds: Senior Consultant, Manager or above in a Big 4 or second-tier consulting firm, with experience supporting Federal Government clients in financial reporting Senior Consultant, Manager or above in a Big 4 or other audit firm, with experience conducting financial audits for Federal Government clients Experienced EL1 Financial Accountant with strong financial operations and reporting knowledge, team management experience and a record of stable tenure Ideally, you will be an experience financial accountant or financial auditor at the EL1 equivalent level with a sound understanding of financial operations and experience preparing Portfolio Budget Statements, and use of CBMS.
