Overview St George Hospital - Clinical Nurse Consultant 1 - Nutritional Support - Temporary Part Time Join to apply for the role at NSW Health. The Role The Nutritional support positions are an integral part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for coordinating and facilitating the care of acutely unwell patients with nutritional support issues at St George Hospital. Primary responsibilities include nursing consultancy and support for TPN, and clinical consultancy for all enteral nutrition devices, including patient and carer education and outpatient management. The role involves specialised clinical care, patient advocacy, staff & patient education, research, data collection and close consultation with Medical, Nursing and Allied health teams across the organisation. Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 means a registered nurse appointed as such to a position approved by the Health Service, who has at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, and in addition who has approved post registration nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the Health Service. Selection Criteria Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and current NSW Driver's License (if required by service). Minimum five years full time equivalent post graduate qualification experience and/or a post graduate qualification in field of practice. Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice. Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums and knowledge of the practice development framework to clinical practice. Demonstrated involvement in the development/change of clinical practice underpinned by evidence-based research. Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning. Ability to apply clinical expertise in client-centred consultancy with the ability to work independently. Demonstrated recent experience and expertise in the management of TPN, and enteral devices in an acute care facility.
