Overview Solution Architects – Defence Sector (NV2 Clearance Required) We are seeking experienced Solution Architects and Senior Solution Architects to support critical Defence sector initiatives. These roles will contribute to the design and integration of secure, scalable, and future-ready ICT solutions that underpin national security outcomes. Responsibilities Design and deliver robust, scalable, and secure architectures across distributed systems, hybrid cloud environments, and mission-critical networks. Provide technical direction and integration strategies across multi-vendor and geographically dispersed solutions. Lead or support network transformation initiatives, including automation, software-defined networking, and identity integration. Contribute to architecture designs, documentation, and operational procedures. Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including Defence representatives and industry partners, to optimise solutions and resolve issues. Offer technical leadership and guidance, including risk identification, mitigation strategies, and ICT best practice recommendations. Required Skills and Experience Demonstrated experience in Defence or highly regulated sectors as a Solution or Senior Solution Architect. Strong technical expertise in network architecture, routing strategies (BGP, MPLS, Segment Routing), distributed systems, and hybrid cloud integration. Proven experience designing and delivering complex, multi-vendor solutions. Ability to apply frameworks and standards (such as TOGAF and SFIA) to solution design and implementation. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills. Knowledge of Defence networks and systems. Familiarity with emerging ICT technologies and industry trends. Strong documentation and architecture modelling skills. Understanding of ICT risk management and solution assurance processes. Must hold and maintain a Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) Security Clearance . Ability to comply with international export control requirements (ITAR). Roles are based in Canberra or Sydney , with occasional travel as required.
