About the role: Our client is seeking an experienced Database Administrator, to enable the delivery of Agency objectives and outcomes by undertaking the design, implementation and operational support of database services infrastructure. They will work within the Funding and Disclosure Reform Program and will assist the team to deliver positive outcomes for the program. Requirements The Database Administrator will be responsible for, but not limited to: Practical experience with SQL Server, including setup, configuration, monitoring, performance tuning, indexing, query optimization and troubleshooting. Apply access controls, encryption, and audit trails to protect sensitive data, ensuring security and compliance with data protection laws like the Privacy Act 1988. Create and manage backup schedules, ensure reliable data recovery processes, and regularly test restore procedures. Skilled in SQL (T-SQL) for writing, debugging, and optimizing queries, using performance tuning and monitoring tools like SQL Profiler, and applying backup and recovery techniques. Use analytical thinking to solve complex issues, explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and document processes clearly. Develop and support key internal and external relationships, including managing stakeholders to achieve work area and agency goals Provide accurate specialist advice, guidance and reporting on functional responsibilities.
