Our Federal Government client is seeking an APS 6 Senior HR Advisor- WHS and Wellbeing for an ongoing s26 or 12-month non-ongoing opportunity with possibility for extension. The successful applicant will provide specialised and at times complex and sensitive HR advice and assist in the delivery of HR strategic and business improvement programs related to WHS, wellbeing and rehabilitation case management. It is expected that the applicant will work under limited direction. The successful applicant will demonstrate well-developed communication and organisational skills, initiative, an effective ability to work both independently and collaboratively within and across teams, an ability to set work priorities and excellent time management skills. They will be customer focussed, highly motivated, driven and adaptable to the Agencies working environment; and demonstrate the ability to build and maintain relationships across the organisation. The successful applicant will also demonstrate excellent written skills and well-developed technical HR knowledge and expertise in relevant disciplines. High levels of discretion and integrity are expected as you will often be required to work with sensitive and confidential material. Primary outcomes and accountabilities: In addition to meeting the Integrated Leadership System profile of the APS 6 level, primary outcomes and accountabilities will involve: 1. Providing consistent, accurate and timely advice and support on WHS, case and wellbeing matters. 2. Researching, developing, interpreting and or applying relevant legislation, enterprise agreements and determinations, employment contracts, policies and procedures. 3. Overseeing the delivery of HR related programs including the Agencies WHS and wellbeing plan. 4. Supporting The Agencies Committees, including the National Health and Safety Committee and various WHS and wellbeing forums. 5. Identifying, improving and leading the implementation of business process improvements. 6. Identification and proactive management of risk including implementation of controls and treatments. 7. Establishing networks and maintaining relationships, at all levels across the Agency and with external bodies such as, Comcare and the APSC. 8. Supporting, coordinating and contributing to the effective design and delivery of HR projects. 9. Undertaking reporting including the analysis of data and narrative of insights. 10. Delivering and/or supporting the implementation of organisational people strategy initiatives. 11. Managing contracts and procurement activities. 12. Supervising, coaching and/or mentoring staff and leaders where required. Qualifications: Qualifications in Human Resources and/or other relevant qualifications, highly desirable. Previous experience in similar roles with two or more years’ experience, highly desirable. Essential Requirements: The successful candidate will need to have the Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected) security clearance or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level. Ability to obtain and maintain a national police check.
