We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and competent Maintenance Fitter to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a close-knit team that’s taking gluten free baking to a new level. About the Role: This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday. However, some shift support and weekend work will be required from time to time. With your primary focus on machinery preventative maintenance, you will be required to provide support to the Maintenance Manager. It will be important that you fit in a relaxed, easy-going but hardworking team environment and are able to be flexible with start and finish times. Some of the Duties and Responsibilities: This is a key position within our team and on a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for providing a high level of maintenance support in duties such as, but not limited to the following. Your primary responsibilities will be troubleshooting breakdowns and maintenance of machinery/equipment that eliminates downtime and improves line efficiency. Work closely with the production team to ensure bakery equipment is running efficiently with minimal down time. Carry out Preventative Maintenance as per our preventative maintenance program. Welding repairs (all Stainless Steel) – MIG, TIG and MMA welding desirable. Mechanical fitters with electrical/electronic qualifications is desirable. Assist with key operator training across all shifts. Ensure the work area remains safe, clean, and orderly while adhering to our Company Policies, local and state guidelines regarding health, safety, and sanitation. Skills Required: You will be able to demonstrate previous experience within a maintenance environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of attention to detail and accuracy required. Good computing skills in Microsoft Office. Ensure all reported issues and possible improvements are addressed in a timely manner. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a work environment that has high work volumes at times. Multivac/Thermoform experience highly desirable, but not essential About You: It is important you are well organised and efficient as there are multiple tasks to be completed each day, often with strict deadlines. Previous experience in FMCG industry with sound knowledge of WHS, GMP and HACCP is desirable Metal fabrication and in particular TIG and MIG welding is advantageous Exposure to packaging machines in a food production facility is highly desirable. You will have a mature attitude, be confident, self-motivated and good at multitasking You will have 3 years’ experience of working in a maintenance team. Desire to expand your knowledge and skills to understand many aspects of the company You will be a strong communicator with the ability to forge strong internal and external relationships Ability to take on instructions and complete tasks independently Required Qualifications: You will need a Mechanical or an Electrical Trade Qualification or similar.
